Albin Family Session

This past weekend I found myself manning the studio alone! Typically both Jason and myself shoot-- especially for sessions with children it's a lot easier and smoother for everyone involved. However our little one has been sick-sick-sick and with Friday and Saturday looming ever closer we knew that one of us would have to stay home.
I typically photograph a lot for weddings and seniors, but usually in the studio (especially during the winter) I find myself posing more than shooting. Let me say, it was SOOOOO refreshing to get back behind the camera again! It's so nice to have a job that I love!
The first session of the day was a family session who brought along with them by far the LARGEST dog I have ever photographed.

I was so impressed with how well behaved he was too! The whole session was a hoot trying to get him to "pose" for us!
Thanks guys for a great session!

Newborn Session: Olivia

It's been a while since we've been posting new blogs-- a big apology to those of you who check back frequently! Fortunately for us, it's not because we haven't been shooting -- but rather the opposite, we are SOOO busy!

I (Heather) am working the studio full time now (WOO HOO!) and couldn't be happier! We suffered a small case of growing pains late last year and I think that Jason and myself have worked through those. Thank you so much to everyone for their patience and understanding-- our little studio has grown so much in the past 6 months!

I will work hard on posting more blog entries and work even harder on trying to keep up to date with them! :)

In the meantime, check out this little cutie! I LOVE sleeping newborns and I love it when parents bring in props for us.....little Olivia was a doll and we had a blast working with Dad's fire helmet.

Like the box Jason picked out all on his own? :D I sure do and newborns fit so well on it!

Oh Baby! Maternity Session

Kristine found us online and I'm SO glad she did! Her and her husband were a lot of fun to work with, and her pictures turned out beautiful!

This session is a great example of different maternity styles, from traditional, to semi-nude to full nudes, each style has its own character, and they are all beautiful!

Thanks so much for coming in Kristine, and congrats on your new baby boy! We'll see you soon,

Mike and Ayanna Engagement

One word can describe these two, HOT! From the moment we met Mike and Ayanna, we knew they'd be a couple to remember, and when they came in to the studio for their engagement pics, they didn't disappoint.

While it was cold and bitter outside, these two sizzled with romance and even treated us to an impromptu tango that would make all those dancing celebrities jealous.

We were so happy to have you two in the studio and can't wait for the big day! Enjoy your preview!

PUPPIES! Oh my!

During a wedding consult the mother of the bride mentioned that they just had a litter of puppies...Jason and I both immediately perked up and suggested that they bring that litter of puppies in the studio so that we could "photograph" them (i.e. - play with cute little bundles of furry cuteness!)

I was a bit nervous about having 10 in the studio at once but there was no reason-- at 5 weeks old these guys were calm and sleepy (and oh-so-cute!) and posed well for us.

AND....they're up for adoption! See below for more details!

Puppy yin-yang :)

If you're interested in adopting one of these little cuties please give Robin a call at (616) 834-2426. She's asking $50 a pup and as a special bonus for finding these guys a home, Absolute will throw in a FREE puppy session for you and your new little bundle of joy!

Awww....just look at that face! How could you say no?

Lis & Aaron: Wedding Sneak Peek

Lis and Aaron were an absolute hoot to photograph during their engagement session-- both Jason and myself were really looking forward to their wedding! We don't photograph many winter weddings (only a couple a year) and I always worry that instead of being white outside it'll be a cold and dingy brown. No worries yesterday however-- Friday we were hammered by a huge snow storm and Saturday night of the wedding more was coming down!

The girls started their day at the salon Profiles by Design in Holland. Manicures and pedicures for all! :)

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Til Midnight on the south side of Holland. This has to be my favorite reception site to photograph in - the colors and atmosphere are amazing- not to mention the food, YUM!

Cheesecake, Jason's greatest weakness...mmm!

Another reason I love this venue is for the walls - gorgeous bricks that are great to photograph against!

A quick trip outdoors (sorry Lis, I know it was COLD!) -- another winter storm is coming!

What we loved the most about these two is that they are not afraid to be themselves. Self-proclaimed "pukey" affectionate and downright goofy at times - but REAL and truly heartfelt. Thank you so much guys for letting us be a part of your day - we had a blast!

First Birthday!

What a cutie this little guy was! He was turning a year old on the 17th of this month (Happy Birthday yesterday!) and mom wanted to get some 1 year pics -- she even brought a cake with her! It turned into a HUGE mess and I can't begin to tell you how THANKFUL I am that we have switched to using the white vinyl. Clean up was a breeze - well, at least on our end. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they were finding frosting and cake the next day at that baby! :)

My favorite picture from the session has to be this one though. I loved his eyes and expression - proving that you don't have to have big smiles (or any at all!) to make a great shot.

Thanks guys- I had a blast and hope that you enjoyed yourself too!
