Sneak Peek: Wierda Family

What a bunch of cuties these sisters are! Mom brought in little Ellen to be photographed in her new dress - Ellen wasn't so sure about having her picture taken at first, but quickly warmed up.

Awww.....sisterly love!

I LOVE their eyes in this one!

We'll be calling soon to come in and view all your proofs. Hope you enjoyed your sneak peek!

Sneak Peek: Keller Maternity

We had the pleasure of photographing Nicole and her family a couple days ago in anticipation of their new little one on the way! I could completely sympathize with the "rigors" of a photo shoot--it's hard getting down on the floor and then up again when you're nine months pregnant!

Big sister was a cutie pie and was definitely up for a game or two of peek-a-boo behind mom's belly.

Little bit of lovin' on the belly :)

Hope you guys like your sneak peek and we'll be thinking you easy labor thoughts! Can't wait to meet the new little one soon!

Emily & Nick: Wedding Sneak Peek!

What a perfect day for a wedding! The attention to detail was obvious and the day couldn't have gone more smoothly!

Emily's dress was gorgeous-- the details on the back were beautiful!

The groomsmen were introduced to us (in order in this pic) as #1, #2, #3, #4, best man and groom. Unfortunately for the guys, this stuck for the rest of the day.

Emily's dad looked so proud right before walking her down the aisle -- I loved his expression!

The ceremony was beautiful, as was the church!

Ewwwww! They're kissing again! ;)

(Holy belly! Nope, still haven't popped that kid yet!)

Thank you so much Emily and Nick for letting us be a part of your special day! We had a blast and hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Rachel and Kevin: Wedding Sneak Peek

We had the pleasure of photographing Rachel and Kevin's wedding this month. It was a warm, sunny day, the church was beautiful, and so was the bride.

We arrived extra early to make sure we got those fun and sometimes emotional "getting ready" shots. We were especially pleased that the sanctuary was air conditioned -ceiling fans don't always cut it when its 89 degrees outside!

The ceremony was beautiful! As a special treat, the best man/guitarist played during the middle of the ceremony, while the groomsmen sang along.

Jason was on his "best" behavior, as always...

After the ceremony, the newlyweds escaped in a gorgeous original Model "A".

Our plans of photographing at Centennial Park were spoiled when we realized it was already occupied by HUNDREDS of people! So, we headed down to the campus of Hope college (where both bride and groom attended) for some fun outdoor pics.

Where the self appointed assistant photographer, Rose (maid of honor) showed us some of her handiwork.

We were photographing the bridal party when a freak "dipping" accident ended in near tragedy(ok, not really tragedy I guess, but a grass stain on the brides dress-- YIKES!)...

She wasn't mad though, after treating her dress with some Shout wipes (can you believe it came CLEAN???) and receiving a brief beating from the bridesmaids,

Kevin pulled it together to salvage the kiss--and the shot :)

Thank you so much Rachel and Kevin for letting us be a part of this day! We had so much fun with you two, good luck and enjoy the pics!

Senior Sneak Peek: Erin

We've been photographing a lot of seniors lately, and Erin is just about as cute as they come. We particularly enjoyed her method of making sure her smiles weren't "fakey" and had a blast during the session : )

Erin was great to work with, fun and adventurous. When we got to the building covered with huge nasty crawling spiders-she didn't even bat an eye. Jason on the other hand.....well, I don't think we'll be going back there again!

Thanks for spending the evening with us! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Senior Sneak Peek: Allie

Can you say WOW?

Allie was drop dead gorgeous AND a natural model -- a photographer's dream! We started at the Lake Michigan shore....

After photographing her in this beautiful white dress, we put her at the water's edge for some more "fun" shots. She said she was tough....but we who live on Lake Michigan know just what 52 degree water really feels like! We all had a ton of fun, but it was a big difference from 75 degrees a few weeks back. Yikes, that's cold!

After the beach, we headed back to the studio and one of our new favorite outdoor locations just across the parking lot from our studio. How cute is this girl??

We finished with a studio session.
Gorgeous clothes, gorgeous girl, great lighting and locations-- what a spectacular senior session!

Thanks so much Allie and JoAnne for choosing Absolute for your senior portraits and driving clear across the state to get here! It was great meeting you and we look forward to working with you again in the future!

Sneak Peek: VanDenBerg Family

We had the pleasure of photographing the VanDenBerg family this week at the Holland State Park. The weather was a tad bit on the cool side-- a nice change from the humid heat we've been having the last several weeks!

Enjoy your sneak peek!

The two youngest granddaughters were both gymnasts, but I think the older two might give them a run for there money based on this picture!

The whole family together!

Hello from Jason and Heather!

Hey everyone, we're finally joining the world of blogging! We thought this would be a great way to not only introduce ourselves, but also to show you recent work coming out of our studio!

So first, the introductions! Absolute Photography consists of two photographers-- Jason and Heather. Yes, we are a couple (and actually expecting a baby ANY DAY now!) and we have a large family. The new baby will make 4 children for us(wow)!

We are family orientated (in our type of work, how could you not be??) so don't be surprised if you sometimes stop at the studio and we're not there! We are open by appointment only, so as a general rule, it's a good idea to call ahead because we are often photographing on location, or maybe we're at the pool with the kids!

We both went to school for classical fine art black and white photography (think darkroom) -- in fact, that's where we met! We like to take this non-traditional portraiture background and apply it whenever we can to our work.

Give us a call (616) 644-2428 or drop us an email (info@absolute-photo.net) to talk about what Absolute can do for you and your portraiture needs or to schedule a time to come in and see the studio! (It's right next to Captain Sundae-- do you need a better excuse?)
