PUPPIES! Oh my!

During a wedding consult the mother of the bride mentioned that they just had a litter of puppies...Jason and I both immediately perked up and suggested that they bring that litter of puppies in the studio so that we could "photograph" them (i.e. - play with cute little bundles of furry cuteness!)

I was a bit nervous about having 10 in the studio at once but there was no reason-- at 5 weeks old these guys were calm and sleepy (and oh-so-cute!) and posed well for us.

AND....they're up for adoption! See below for more details!

Puppy yin-yang :)

If you're interested in adopting one of these little cuties please give Robin a call at (616) 834-2426. She's asking $50 a pup and as a special bonus for finding these guys a home, Absolute will throw in a FREE puppy session for you and your new little bundle of joy!

Awww....just look at that face! How could you say no?

Lis & Aaron: Wedding Sneak Peek

Lis and Aaron were an absolute hoot to photograph during their engagement session-- both Jason and myself were really looking forward to their wedding! We don't photograph many winter weddings (only a couple a year) and I always worry that instead of being white outside it'll be a cold and dingy brown. No worries yesterday however-- Friday we were hammered by a huge snow storm and Saturday night of the wedding more was coming down!

The girls started their day at the salon Profiles by Design in Holland. Manicures and pedicures for all! :)

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Til Midnight on the south side of Holland. This has to be my favorite reception site to photograph in - the colors and atmosphere are amazing- not to mention the food, YUM!

Cheesecake, Jason's greatest weakness...mmm!

Another reason I love this venue is for the walls - gorgeous bricks that are great to photograph against!

A quick trip outdoors (sorry Lis, I know it was COLD!) -- another winter storm is coming!

What we loved the most about these two is that they are not afraid to be themselves. Self-proclaimed "pukey" affectionate and downright goofy at times - but REAL and truly heartfelt. Thank you so much guys for letting us be a part of your day - we had a blast!

First Birthday!

What a cutie this little guy was! He was turning a year old on the 17th of this month (Happy Birthday yesterday!) and mom wanted to get some 1 year pics -- she even brought a cake with her! It turned into a HUGE mess and I can't begin to tell you how THANKFUL I am that we have switched to using the white vinyl. Clean up was a breeze - well, at least on our end. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they were finding frosting and cake the next day at that baby! :)

My favorite picture from the session has to be this one though. I loved his eyes and expression - proving that you don't have to have big smiles (or any at all!) to make a great shot.

Thanks guys- I had a blast and hope that you enjoyed yourself too!

Senior Session: Harthun

And here we are with the second of our senior sessions from this past Saturday. Let me tell you, it feels SOOO good being caught up on our proofing! :)

We did another wall walk-- only it had gotten colder and more windy. I thought I was the queen of blinking, but nope.... ha ha, only kidding guys! I don't know how these girls did it with no coats today! BRRRRR!

This one is my favorite from the session-- love her expression and her eyes!

Senior Session: Ramona

Yesterday was an incredibly busy day for us-- we started our day by having a booth at the Holland Sentinel Holiday Expo (thanks everyone for stopping by and talking with us-- we look forward to having the opportunity to work with you!) We then rushed back to the studio to photograph the first of two senior sessions. Ramona and family drove all the way from South Haven for her session.

We started with our "wall walk." With about 5 different textured walls within walking distance of our studio, it is easily my new favorite place to photograph seniors outdoors.

Next, we went back to the studio for some indoor shots.

Thank you to Ramona and your mother (and little sis!) for visiting us!
