Sneak Peek: Jude 3 Months

Let me say off that I think that this kid is by far the cutest kid I've ever seen. And being a new mom and obviously being biased to my own children I think that is saying a lot! I absolutely love Jude's hair and eyes!

While proofing this session I had hooked up the ipod to the stereo and I bet that you can guess what came on-- yup, "Hey Jude". It will not be the first time nor the last time I've been accused of being easily amused. ;)

Here you go guys-- enjoy your sneak peek!

Sneak Peek: Phillip is 3 Months!

This kid is a serious cutie-- and when mom pulled out the swimsuit and glasses....awesome!! Unfortunately the life guard shirt was a little too small-- but honestly, I don't mind the baby pudge either! (Really, is there anything cuter than baby pudge?)

Enjoy!

Now that's what I'm talking about! Love it!

Try Love!

There's a song on the radio right now that proclaims all the world needs is "peace, love, happiness" I firmly agree, and for two years, I drove down Lakewood ave under the 31 overpass, and when I looked up at the overpass, I saw the words "Try Love" in graffiti on the concrete. Now, I know graffiti is vandalism, and a crime, and should not be condoned, but every time I looked up a that writing, I got a little bit of a shiver, followed by a little hope-that yes, we could all try love, and yes, it could very well make a difference. Since I first saw the Try Love graffiti, I wanted to do something with it, but it took me a couple years to figure it out. Finally, one afternoon I took our daughter up to the overpass to photograph her, she was a great sport and gave me an expression that was simply "her".

Almost seems to me like its her that's making this statement

After posting a copy of this picture outside the studio, Jen approached me and told me she loved the idea and wanted to do something similar with her little one. I happily obliged, and we braved the "hill" to capture some very cute pics of her little one.

This little one was just adorable, and very fun to work with.

After these pics I was ready to retire the "hill" as a shooting location, but Heather and I had the idea that it would be fun to bring a couple up for some engagement pictures. So....Aaron and Liz climbed up for what would be our final shoot with the Try Love wall.

These two were crazy cute, and were "monkeying" around the whole time.

And they didn't need much direction either, this is one happy and in love couple.

Several days ago, I was driving my kids home from school and saw that the Try Love graffiti that I had for so long admired, had been painted over by the city. While I am not "upset," I am rather bummed, because as you can see now, I had quite a passion for this wall, and for the message I always felt it gave. Well, it was only graffiti, and I suppose the city has a right to clean up its overpasses.......but the funny thing was, they didn't scrub it off-they actually painted over it...

Wedding Sneak Peek: Julie & Doug

Julie and Doug were an incredibly sweet couple and we were excited to get to photograph in a church that we had never been to before. In fact, their wedding provided a lot of firsts for us as we had never photographed at their reception spot either-- The Piper in Holland.

We also cruised out to Macatawa and photographed on the beach, which are my favorite shots from the wedding.

The getaway car- very nice!

Julie had the most sincere, gorgeous smile.
I'm so happy for the both of you! Congratulations!

Senior Sneak Peek: Jany

Let me start out by saying, this is one easy goin' girl!

Jany was such a great sport; she was up for any pose we suggested -- even if it meant leaning against the spider wall (ewww!) or laying down in the incredibly wet grass just to get the shot! We really enjoyed photographing you Jany, hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Engagement Sneak Peek: Shaina & Brian

What a beautiful weekend we had! The weather was too incredible to pass up so after a quick session in the studio, we took Shaina and Brian out to the state park. There was no wind coming in off the lake (very strange!) and with only a handful of people around it felt like we had the place to ourselves.

Jason and I had noticed this building on our way out to the beach-- the red ivy growing up it was absolutely gorgeous!

It was great to finally get to meet the two of you. We can't wait to photograph your wedding next spring! Congrats! :)

Sneak Peek: Maggie

Maggie's mom first emailed us asking about a photo Jason had taken of our daughter. The "Try Love" wall is a very unique location -- it isn't the most convienent place to get to (a highway overpass on an extremely steep hill) but that didn't deter them!

Maggie was a hoot to work with in the studio. Mom provided us with some super cute outfits and Maggie had plenty of energy to share!

Love these boots and leg warmers! (If only I could get away with wearing something like that!)
